I started learning about and getting interested in abolition and carceral justice right around the time applications for the lab came out! My previous lab was more clinical but I wanted to pursue work that was more public health and community-centered as that is where my passions lie. I had just finished reading Angela Davis’ “Are Prisons Obsolete?” and was very inspired by it, so decided to try joining Carceral Ecologies to spread the word about carceral injustice and do work that felt deeply meaningful.

Fun Fact: I used to be on a synchronized figure skating team!
