Growing up with an LA county public defender attorney as a mom, I have been always been aware of the injustices and oppression in the legal and prison system. I strongly believe in accountability of the system as a whole and the deputies and workers within that perpetuate these injustices. I wanted to join the Carceral Ecologies lab to serve the individuals and families impacted and to establish more transparency.
