During my time in SOC GEN 105B, I had the opportunity to learn about addiction in the carceral system, mainly through Kimberly Sue’s book Getting Wrecked. From there, I started learning about and getting interested in abolition and carceral justice, which led me to apply to our lab for its community-centered approach. I hope to create detailed visual representations to communicate transparently with fellow community members while exploring critical environmental injustice!
